Description

Under the direction of the Aquatics leadership team, lifeguards ensure the safety of every patron at the Centennial Pool-plex, and provide swim lessons to small groups.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 

Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.

Wears uniform as expected with no alterations.

Monitors all pool activities for all pool areas while on duty.

Monitors all class activities while instructing.

Presents a positive and professional demeanor during all class drills.

Utilizes preventative lifeguarding skills to prevent accidents.

Strictly enforces the Emergency Action Plan (E.A.P.) at all times.

Assists managers with monitoring water chemistry.

Assists managers with cleaning of pool area including locker rooms, deck, and support areas.

Assists with the enforcement of rules and policies of the school district.

While in guard chair, closely monitors water activities through use of scanning selected areas as determined by management staff.

Participates in all staff training sessions and meetings, including audits, and testing to develop or maintain training fitness and skill levels.

Seeks continued professional improvement.

Assists manager with storage and cleaning projects as directed.

Other Duties may be assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position assists in the supervision of Pool-Plex safety for staff and patrons

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Previous experience preferred.

 

Required Certificates:  Red Cross Lifeguarding for Water Parks, CPR and First Aide, AED and First Aide Training.

 

These positions are part-time (less than 29.5 hours per week). Training for these positions will occur prior to starting work.
