SUMMARY:  Direct the orchestra program at a secondary location to be determined. Provide quality orchestra instruction and experience in music performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties as assigned.

• Coordinate music instruction to support the orchestra program.

• Classroom instruction will include directing performances, full rehearsals, testing and helping students prepare solos and ensembles for district and state contest 

• Provide leadership in the planning and supervision of trips and competitions related to the music program

• Serves as a consultant in the selection of instructional materials and equipment; recommends new programs and changes in existing programs

• Serves as a consultant with other staff members of the district in the area of extracurricular music activities

• Develop a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and media to inform the parents and public about the orchestra program

• Prepare and administer the orchestra program budget 

Qualifications: Prefer an individual with the experience and expertise necessary to continue the strong musical tradition of the Blue Springs School District. You must hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri teaching certificate in the area of Instrumental with focus in Orchestra, K-12.

Salary will be commensurate with background, training and experience.

Current salaries range from a minimum of $37,000 to a maximum of $80,215. Salary will be commensurate with background, education and experience.

This position may require travel between buildings.
